TEMPLE ISRAEL CONTINUES SUMMER MUSIC FRIDAYS ON JULY 23

Temple Israel and JCC of Ridgewood will continues its new series of Summer Music Fridays on July 23. Performing at this concert will be the synagogue’s Cantor, Caitlin Bromberg & Gerard Edery, master guitarist, vocalist and an expert on Sephardic music.  Cantor Bromberg & Gerrard Edery will present a selection of songs from the Judaeo-Spanish tradition.  The songs will be sung in Ladino, a language which is a blend of medieval Spanish, Hebrew and other Romance language and Middle Eastern elements.  Enchanting love songs will lead into songs of spiritual and mystical content, providing an exotic and beautiful ambience with which to welcome the Sabbath.

The program will begin at 7:00 p.m. with a wine and cheese reception, followed by Cantor Bromberg’s performance. At 8:00 p.m., attendees will celebrate Kabbalat Shabbat in the sanctuary. Admission is free, but voluntary donations of any amount will be appreciated to support Music at Temple Israel.
